Information

Description

Description

A large, well-established division of this creeping, scandent epiphyte from the Andean cloud forests, with multiple active stems bearing thick, glossy ovate leaves. The slender, pendant flowers display the genus’ signature form: a narrow, channeled synsepal with fine longitudinal veining, thread-like antennal petals, and an erect dorsal sepal — produced successively from the leaf axils.

  • Light: Moderate indirect light with 60–70% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can stress the glossy foliage.
  • Temperature: 50–65°F (10–18°C); a cool grower requiring consistent cool conditions and strong airflow.
  • Humidity: 70–85%; high humidity with good air circulation is essential for healthy growth and continuous blooming.
  • Watering: Keep evenly moist at all times; the absence of pseudobulbs means no drought tolerance.

Additional Notes

Best grown mounted on cork bark or in a hanging basket with sphagnum moss to accommodate its creeping habit. Blooms repeatedly from the leaf axils throughout the year. Ships bare-root in excellent condition.
