Information

Description

Description

A reed-stem epiphyte from the cloud forests of Central America, bearing few-flowered racemes of medium-sized blooms on upright stems with broad, oval, leathery leaves. The flowers display wide, acuminate sepals and petals with dense, bold longitudinal veining across the entire surface, alongside a three-lobed lip equally marked with the same striking marbled pattern that gives the species its name.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 40–60% shade cloth; avoid direct midday sun to prevent stress on the broad, leathery foliage.
  • Temperature: 54–75°F (12–24°C); an intermediate grower that benefits from moderate temperature fluctuations between day and night.
  • Humidity: 65–85%; good air movement around the roots and stems helps prevent fungal issues.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the medium to approach dryness between waterings; avoid standing water at the roots.

Additional Notes

Best grown in a well-draining bark-based mix. Plants are shipped bare root and well established, ready to settle into their new growing environment.
