A bold and architecturally striking species from the cloud forests of Ecuador, forming tall, upright cane-like stems with distichous leaves arranged in a ladder-like pattern along the stem. Clusters of star-shaped flowers emerge at multiple nodes simultaneously in a staggered, scaliform arrangement — an entirely atypical growth and blooming habit for the genus that makes this species a true conversation piece.
Additional Notes
Best grown in a well-draining bark-based mix in a tall pot to support its upright, cane-like stems. A standout collector's species prized for its unique scaliform blooming habit and bold architectural presence. Shipped bare root in well-established condition.
Too small, not even flowering size plant. It will need like 3 to 5 years to bloom.
Hello! We are sorry to hear that the Maxillaria scalariformis plant was not the size you were hoping for. We understand your disappointment and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. And we hope that the help provided by our team has been satisfactory..✨
Received a very big plant. After one month he lost some leaves, the overall plant looks good. The orchid is still recovering from the trip from Ecuador to France i think, as it show no sign of recovery (no new growth etc...)
Plant arrived in generally good condition, bare root with new growing tips. Appears to be doing well.
