A hybrid of Bc. Fuchs Star × L. purpurata var. atropurpurea, combining the slender, arching sepals and petals of the Brassavola influence with the broad, heavily veined lip inherited from the purpurata parent. Flowers are carried on upright stems with cylindrical pseudobulbs and strap-like leaves, producing a single bloom of striking form and texture.
-
Light: Bright indirect light with 40–60% shade cloth; avoid direct midday sun, which can scorch the foliage.
-
Temperature: 60–85°F (15–29°C); a warm grower that thrives with a slight 10°F (5°C) night drop to encourage blooming.
-
Humidity: 60–80%; good air circulation is essential to prevent fungal issues at the base of pseudobulbs.
-
Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the medium to approach dryness between waterings; never allow roots to sit in standing water.
