Oncidium Holiday Yellow

A cross between Onc. Medall Yellow and Onc. Holiday Gold, this cheerful hybrid produces long, arching panicles densely packed with classic dancing-lady flowers in bright canary yellow adorned with rich chestnut-brown markings and a broad, ruffled lip. A branching spike emerges from each mature pseudobulb, delivering an exuberant floral show that lasts several weeks.

• Light: Grows best under 50–60% shade cloth with bright, indirect light. Avoid prolonged direct sun exposure, which can cause leaf burn and bleaching.
• Temperature: Intermediate grower. Daytime temperatures of 68–78°F (20–26°C) and nighttime lows of 58–65°F (14–18°C); a consistent day-night differential of at least 10°F (5°C) promotes spike initiation.
• Humidity: Maintain 60–75% relative humidity. Humidity trays or a humidifier are recommended; good air movement is essential to prevent rot.
• Watering: Water thoroughly when the medium is nearly dry, approximately every 5–7 days. Reduce frequency slightly during cooler months; mounted plants require more frequent watering year-round.

A vigorous Ecuagenera hybrid combining two proven yellow-flowered Oncidium lines selected for spike count and flower size. Best cultivated in a coarse bark mix with excellent drainage; repot every 2 years or when the medium begins to decompose.
