Information

Anthurium cuspidatum (seedling)

A species native to the cloud forests of South America, with elongated, lanceolate-cordate leaves tapering to a pronounced cuspidate apex and a smooth, semi-glossy surface. Young seedlings develop the characteristic narrow, upright leaf form early, making them rewarding to grow from an early stage.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50–70% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which scorches the thin, elongated leaves.
  • Temperature: 60–78°F (16–26°C); an intermediate grower that performs best with stable, moderate temperatures and no cold drafts below 55°F (13°C).
  • Humidity: 65–85%; high humidity supports vigorous growth and maintains the smooth, glossy leaf surface.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly when the top inch of substrate dries out; ensure excellent drainage and avoid letting the roots sit in standing water.

Additional Notes

A less commonly cultivated species valued for its elegant, narrow foliage and epiphytic growth habit. Plants are offered as seedlings in a well-draining substrate and shipped bare root and well-established.
