Information

Description

Description

A compact epiphyte native to Ecuador, producing small, erect flowers directly from the base of distinctive dark, cylindrical pseudobulbs. The lanceolate sepals and petals form a semi-cupped bloom with a neat, refined appearance characteristic of the Heterotaxis alliance.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 40–60% shade cloth; tolerates slightly more light due to its succulent pseudobulbs.
  • Temperature: 58–78°F (14–26°C); an intermediate-warm grower that thrives with stable temperatures and good air movement.
  • Humidity: 60–80%; consistent humidity supports healthy root and pseudobulb development.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the mix to approach dryness between waterings; the fleshy pseudobulbs store moisture, so avoid overwatering.

Additional Notes

Ships bare root and well-established — pot promptly upon arrival in fine bark mix and water generously to rehydrate the roots. Best grown mounted on cork bark or in a small, well-draining pot.
