Cyrtochilum grandiflorum

Cyrtochilum grandiflorum is a commanding Andean orchid celebrated for its large, intricately patterned flowers and long, branching inflorescences. As a mature plant opens its blooms along the arching spikes, it creates an expansive display with exceptional scale, movement, and visual detail.

Care Guide

• Light: Provide bright, filtered light. Avoid intense midday sun, which may scorch the foliage.
• Water: Water regularly during active growth, allowing the growing medium to approach dryness between waterings without remaining dry for long.
• Humidity: Maintain moderate to high humidity with strong, consistent air circulation.
• Temperature: Grow in cool to intermediate conditions with cooler nights. Protect the plant from prolonged heat.
• Growing medium: Use an airy, fast-draining orchid mix that retains light moisture. Provide generous space for its developing pseudobulbs and long flower spikes.

With its substantial flowers and sweeping inflorescences, Cyrtochilum grandiflorum rewards patient growers with a theatrical display worthy of a prominent place in a cool-growing orchid collection.
