Information

Description

Description

A select yellow-flowered clone of Masd. staaliana, a compact species from the cloud forests of Ecuador. Known for its tubular flowers produced on short, wiry spikes, this 'Yellow' selection stands out for its uncommon coloration — a warm, clear yellow that is rarely seen in the species.

  • Light: 70–80% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can stress the foliage and affect flower color.
  • Temperature: 50–65°F (10–18°C) — Cool grower; thrives with consistent cool temperatures and good air movement year-round.
  • Humidity: 80–90%; strong air circulation is essential to prevent crown rot and fungal issues.
  • Watering: Keep evenly moist at all times; water 2–3× per week. This species has no pseudobulbs and cannot tolerate drying out between waterings.

Additional Notes

Grown at Ecuagenera's facilities in the highlands of Ecuador under cool, humid Andean conditions. Plants are shipped bare root, well-established. A rare color form of an already uncommon species — a genuine collector's find.
