Information

Description

Description

A striking miniature orchid from Andean cloud forests, remarkable for its prolific blooming and lush, dense growth. The flowers feature open, well-separated sepals tapering into short tails, in deep, velvety dark tones that emerge in impressive clusters directly from the base of the plant.

  • Light: Low to moderate light; 70–80% shade cloth. Avoid direct sun exposure.
  • Temperature: 57–72°F (14–22°C); intermediate grower. Benefits from moderate temperature fluctuation between day and night.
  • Humidity: 70–90%. Maintain high humidity with good air circulation to prevent fungal issues.
  • Watering: Keep roots evenly moist at all times. Water more frequently in warm months, slightly less in winter.

Additional Notes

Best grown in fine bark or sphagnum moss in small net or plastic pots. Well suited for intermediate indoor or greenhouse setups. Offered by Ecuagenera, Ecuador, as a well-established bare-root plant.
