Acianthera platystachys

This small epiphyte, is native to the tropical regions of Central and South America (from Mexico to Brazil). It is characterized by its compact growth and produces successive spikes of small flowers.

• Light: Provide bright indirect light (filtered shade). Direct sunlight must be avoided as it can scorch the leaves.
• Temperature: Grown as an Intermediate to Warm temperature species. The ideal range is between 68-81°F (20-27°C).
• Humidity: Requires high humidity, ideally 70% or higher. Excellent and constant air circulation is crucial.
• Watering: Water frequently to keep the potting medium consistently moist. Never allow the plant to dry out completely.

Additional Notes

The name platystachys refers to the flat floral spike. The plant is known for generating flat spikes of tiny yellowish flowers, making it a point of interest for specialized collectors.
