Information

Description

Description

A floriferous epiphyte native to the Andean cloud forests, producing dense, upright spikes packed with numerous medium-sized flowers. The lanceolate sepals and petals taper to sharp tips and are covered in bold, irregular maculate spotting, while the compact trilobed lip features a rounded frontal lobe and a contrasting basal callus.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 40–60% shade cloth; avoid direct midday sun, which can stress the pseudobulbs and foliage.
  • Temperature: 57–75°F (14–24°C); an intermediate grower that benefits from a slight nighttime temperature drop to encourage spike initiation.
  • Humidity: 60–80%; consistent moisture supports vigorous growth and the production of densely flowered spikes.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the medium to approach dryness between waterings; never allow roots to sit in standing water.

Additional Notes

Best grown in a medium bark mix with good drainage and airflow around the roots. Plants are shipped bare root, well established, and ready to adapt quickly to their new growing environment.
