Information

Epipremnum amplissimum

An elegant epiphytic aroid from the tropical forests of Southeast Asia, producing elongated, narrowly lanceolate leaves with a prominent midrib, smooth margins, and a firm, glossy texture. Stems are naturally climbing or trailing, making it a versatile choice for both mounted displays and hanging arrangements.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 40–60% shade cloth; tolerates lower light but produces larger, more vigorous leaves with adequate brightness.
  • Temperature: 64–86°F (18–30°C); a warm tropical grower that thrives in stable, humid conditions and is sensitive to cold drafts and temperatures below 55°F (13°C).
  • Humidity: 60–80%; high humidity encourages robust leaf development and healthy aerial root production.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly when the top 2–3 cm of substrate begins to dry; avoid prolonged waterlogging, which can cause root rot.
  • Growth Habit: Vigorous climbing or trailing epiphyte that attaches to surfaces via aerial roots; benefits from a moss pole or bark mount to encourage larger leaf expression.

Additional Notes

Best grown in a chunky, well-aerated aroid mix of orchid bark, perlite, and coco coir. Ships bare root, well-established.
