Information

Anthurium carlablackiae x Anthurium cerrocampanense

A hybrid of Anth. carlablackiae × Anth. cerrocampanense, two rare collector species from the cloud forests of Central America. Leaves are broadly ovate to cordate with a smooth, semi-glossy to lightly iridescent surface, subtle venation, and a compact, upright growth habit that makes this cross a standout specimen at any stage of development.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 60–70% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can scorch the smooth leaf surface and diminish the iridescent sheen.
  • Temperature: 62–78°F (17–26°C); an intermediate to warm grower that appreciates stable, humid conditions without temperature extremes.
  • Humidity: 75–90%; high humidity is essential for full leaf development and to maintain the characteristic surface sheen of both parent species.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the top layer of substrate to approach dryness before the next watering; avoid waterlogging and complete desiccation of the root zone.
  • Growth Habit: Compact and upright, combining the broad ovate lamina and iridescent surface of carlablackiae with the elongated cordate form and smooth texture of cerrocampanense, resulting in a plant with refined collector appeal and dynamic leaf variation between growth stages.

Additional Notes

Plants are shipped bare root and well established. Upon arrival, pot promptly in a well-draining aroid mix and water thoroughly to rehydrate the root system. Allow the plant to acclimate in a warm, humid environment for 1–2 weeks before resuming a regular care routine.
