Description

Description

The iconic Spanish moss — a truly rootless, soilless epiphyte native to the Americas, forming cascading masses of slender, silver-scaled filaments that absorb all moisture and nutrients directly from the air. One of the most versatile and low-maintenance plants in cultivation, equally at home draped over a branch, hung in a basket, or woven into a living display.

  • Light: Bright indirect to filtered light; tolerates partial shade. Avoid prolonged deep shade, which reduces vigor and density.
  • Temperature: 50–95°F (10–35°C) — Highly adaptable. Tolerates a wide range; protect from hard frost.
  • Humidity: 50–90%; thrives in humid environments. In dry climates, mist 2–3 times per week and ensure good air circulation to prevent rot.
  • Watering: No substrate or pot needed. Mist thoroughly 2–3 times per week or soak briefly and allow to dry completely within a few hours. Never leave waterlogged.

Additional Notes

Requires no potting medium — simply hang or drape in a bright, airy spot. Ideal for terrariums, living walls, and decorative displays. Ships as a healthy, established clump.
