Oncidium
Oncidium, som ofte kaldes for Dansende dame-orkidé, er en livlig og overdådig slægt kendt for sine rige klynger af små, indviklede blomster, der ligner dansere i fyldige, flagrende skørter. Disse orkidéer stammer fra en bred vifte af levesteder i Latinamerika, lige fra tropiske regnskove til højtbeliggende tågeskove. De producerer typisk høje, forgrenede blomsterstande, der er tæt pakket med blomster i strålende nuancer af gul, bronze, rød, pink og hvid, ofte prydet med kontrasterende pletter eller mønstre. Deres karakteristiske læbe (labellum) er normalt stor og krøllet, hvilket bidrager til deres livlige og dynamiske udseende. Mange arter og hybrider er desuden dejligt velduftende og fylder luften med en sød, og til tider krydret, duft.
