Information

Description

Description

A hybrid of Lths. caprimulgus × Lths. Andean Flame, combining the large, hooded dorsal sepal of caprimulgus with the open, spreading structure of Andean Flame. The result is an unusually large, translucent flower with a concave dorsal sepal that arches over the bloom like a canopy, and wide-spreading lateral sepals in soft yellow-green tones framing a vivid central lip.

  • Light: Bright indirect light with 50–70% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can stress the delicate foliage.
  • Temperature: 55–72°F (13–22°C); an Intermediate grower that appreciates moderate temperatures with a slight drop at night and good air circulation.
  • Humidity: 75–90%; high humidity is essential to maintain the translucent flower texture and keep roots healthy.
  • Watering: Keep roots evenly moist; water frequently in small amounts with excellent drainage to prevent root rot.

Additional Notes

Best mounted on cork bark or grown in a small net pot with fine sphagnum moss to maintain root moisture and aeration. A closed terrarium or enclosed glass container makes an excellent environment for this hybrid, though it can also thrive in any humid, well-ventilated setup. Ships bare root, well-established.
