A robust species native to the tropical forests of Ecuador, with elongated, sagittate leaves, well-defined basal lobes, and a smooth, semi-glossy surface. Stems are thick and upright, with slightly undulate leaf margins that give the foliage a dynamic, architectural presence.

• Light: Bright indirect light with 50–70% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which scorches the leaf margins and dulls the natural sheen.
• Temperature: 68–90°F (20–32°C); a warm grower that thrives with consistently high temperatures and no cold drafts below 60°F (15°C).
• Humidity: 60–80%; high humidity supports vigorous growth and maintains the glossy leaf surface.
• Watering: Water thoroughly when the top inch of substrate dries out; ensure excellent drainage and avoid letting the pot sit in standing water.

Additional Notes

A less commonly cultivated Ecuadorian species valued for its bold, architectural foliage and vigorous upright growth habit. Plants are grown in a well-draining substrate and shipped bare root and well-established.
