Pabstia modestior

A terrestrial to epiphytic orchid from the cloud forests of South America, producing globose, concave flowers with broad, rounded sepals and petals in yellow-green, a dark brown blotch at the base of the labellum, and a prominent white column. The plicate, lanceolate leaves are characteristic of the genus and give the plant an elegant, layered appearance between bloom cycles.

• Light: Bright indirect light with 40–60% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can scorch the plicate foliage.
• Temperature: 55–75°F (13–24°C); a cool to intermediate grower that benefits from stable, mild temperatures and good air circulation.
• Humidity: 65–85%; consistent humidity supports healthy pseudobulb development and leaf expansion.
• Watering: Water thoroughly and allow the medium to dry slightly between waterings; never allow roots to sit in standing water.

Additional Notes

Pabstia modestior is best grown in a well-draining bark-based mix in a pot with good drainage and strong air movement. It is shipped bare root in well-established condition, ready to pot upon arrival.
