Description

Description

An extraordinary miniature orchid native to Ecuador, renowned for its unique flowers that resemble tiny feline faces, hence its specific epithet 'felis' (Latin for cat).

  • Light: Bright, indirect light with protection from direct sunlight. Thrives in terrarium or vivarium settings with filtered illumination.
  • Temperature: Cool to intermediate conditions, ideally ranging from 54-75°F (12-24°C). Consistent temperatures with good air circulation promote healthy growth and frequent blooming.
  • Humidity: High humidity levels of 60-90% are essential. Use humidity trays, misters, or enclosed growing environments to maintain optimal moisture levels.
  • Watering: Frequent watering to keep the fine substrate consistently moist but never waterlogged. Allow slight surface drying between waterings while maintaining overall moisture.

Additional Notes:

Produces diminutive flowers measuring 3-5mm in shades of yellow, orange, and red with distinctive markings. Ideal for terrariums and display cases, blooming frequently throughout the year with proper care.
