Information

Cattleya sincorana

A captivating miniature species native to the rocky mountain landscapes of South America, highly favored for its exceptional compact growth and striking floral presentation. This robust rupicolous epiphyte develops tightly clustered, nearly spherical pseudobulbs that produce short inflorescences carrying remarkably large, long-lasting, and heavily textured flowers that completely dwarf the foliage.

  • Light: Bright indirect light or filtered sunlight with 40–60% shade cloth; avoid direct midday sun to protect the succulent foliage.
  • Temperature: 59–86Β°F (15–30Β°C); an adaptable intermediate grower that benefits from warm days and a distinct temperature drop at night.
  • Humidity: 60–80%; consistent atmospheric moisture promotes active root development and keeps the compact pseudobulbs plump.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly during active growth but allow the medium to dry completely between applications; ensure excellent drainage to mimic its native habitat.

Additional Notes

This miniature plant is best grown in shallow terracotta pots with a coarse, fast-draining bark mix or mounted on plaques to safeguard its small root system and large flowers. Ships bare root, well established, and ready to be rehydrated at an intermediate temperature and promptly potted upon receipt.
