Description

Description

This miniature to small-sized, epiphytic orchid is native to Peninsular Thailand and Malaysia. It belongs to the Cirrhopetalum section of Bulbophyllum and is characterized by its conical pseudobulbs, each bearing a single, thick, blunt apical leaf.

  • Light: Requires moderate or filtered light, avoiding direct, intense sun, with recommended light levels of approximately 15,000–23,000 lux.
  • Temperature: Cultivate under cool to warm conditions, ideally with daytime temperatures around 68-86°F (20-30°C) and a significant drop at night.
  • Humidity: Requires high ambient humidity, striving for levels between 75% and 85% for most of the year.
  • Watering: Water frequently and consistently during active growth to keep the well-draining medium constantly moist, reducing slightly in the winter.

Additional Notes

The plant typically flowers in a basal inflorescence 9 to 12 cm long, with 2 to 6 flowers in a loose umbel that can reach up to 5 cm in size. The flowers are characterized by a strong and unpleasant fragrance.
