Oncidium
Often called the "Dancing Lady Orchid," Oncidium is a vibrant and exuberant genus known for its profuse sprays of small, intricate flowers that resemble dancers in full, fluttering skirts. Native to a wide range of habitats across Latin America, from tropical rainforests to high-altitude cloud forests, these orchids typically produce tall, branching inflorescences densely packed with blooms in dazzling shades of yellow, bronze, red, pink, and white, often adorned with contrasting spots or patterns. Their distinctive lip (labellum) is usually large and frilly, adding to their lively, dynamic appearance. Many species and hybrids are also delightfully fragrant, filling the air with a sweet, sometimes spicy scent.
