Description

Description

An intriguing intergeneric hybrid from the cross between Miltonia Sunset and Cyrtochilum Anita De Cordero, uniting the flat, pansy-like floral form of the Miltonia parent with the graceful, long-arching spike habit characteristic of Cyrtochilum. The result is a distinctive and elegant plant that stands apart from typical Oncidium alliance hybrids.

  • Light: Bright, indirect light under 40–50% shade cloth; avoid direct sun, which can stress the softer Miltonia-type foliage.
  • Temperature: Intermediate grower. Daytime 65–75°F (18–24°C), nighttime lows of 55–60°F (13–15°C); a consistent day-night differential supports healthy growth and flowering.
  • Humidity: Prefers 60–75% relative humidity; humidity trays or a humidifier with good air movement help prevent the leaf spotting that Miltonias are prone to in stagnant conditions.
  • Watering: Keep the mix evenly moist but never waterlogged; Miltonia parentage makes this hybrid more sensitive to drought than typical Oncidiums — do not allow to dry out completely.

Additional Notes

Best grown in a fine to medium bark mix with excellent drainage; the Miltonia influence calls for slightly more consistent moisture retention than standard Oncidium hybrids. Repot every 2 years when the substrate begins to break down.
