A captivating gesneriad with boldly patterned, velvety foliage that rivals its flowers in ornamental appeal — the deeply textured leaves display rich, contrasting venation that makes it a standout terrarium and vivarium plant. Small tubular flowers appear periodically throughout the year, adding a delicate accent to its dramatic foliage.

• Light: Low to moderate indirect light; direct sun causes leaf scorch and fading of the distinctive foliage pattern.
• Temperature: Warm grower. Daytime 68–82°F (20–28°C), nighttime 60–68°F (15–20°C); avoid cold drafts or temperatures below 55°F (13°C).
• Humidity: 70–90%; thrives in consistently high humidity and is an excellent choice for closed or semi-closed terrariums.
• Watering: Keep the substrate evenly moist; avoid wetting the foliage directly to prevent spotting on the velvety leaves.

Additional Notes

Best grown in a well-draining, peat-based or sphagnum moss substrate with good moisture retention.
