Information

Description

Description

One of the most widely distributed species in the genus, ranging from Mexico through Central America to the northern Andes, and among the most adaptable for cultivation. Compact and exceptionally free-flowering, it produces a succession of small, well-formed blooms with fused sepals and fine caudas.

  • Light: 50–70% shade cloth; bright, diffused light. Avoid any direct sun exposure.
  • Temperature: 48–72°F (9–22°C); Cool to Intermediate grower. More temperature-tolerant than most species in the genus.
  • Humidity: 65–90%. Requires high humidity; good air movement is critical to prevent fungal issues.
  • Watering: Keep evenly moist; never allow the roots to dry out completely. Water frequently with good drainage to avoid stagnation.

Additional Notes

Grown by Ecuagenera in the highlands of Ecuador. Best grown in small pots with a fine, well-draining mix. Plants are shipped bare root and well-established.
