This charming Central and South American orchid species is renowned for its delicate star-shaped flowers and compact epiphytic growth habit, making it an excellent choice for collectors seeking subtly beautiful orchids with intricate patterns and pleasing fragrance.
Additional Notes
Produces small, star-shaped blooms with creamy white base adorned with soft pastel shades of pink or purple, often displaying intricate patterns and pleasing fragrance that adds to their subtle appeal.
If this were the only Kefersteinia I had gotten from Ecuagenera, it would have gotten a 5 but, as it is, it's a little smaller than the Kefersteinia tolimensis I also got in the shipment. Plants are pretty clean, spent leaves have been trimmed or dehisced from plant. I'm relatively new to growing orchids so am hoping that my mounting will work with this plant's large succulent roots. Looking forward to seeing and smelling the blooms.
Thank you for your review! While sizes naturally vary between different Kefersteinia species, we are so glad you received a healthy plant. Those large roots are a great sign of vigor. Happy mounting, and we can’t wait for you to enjoy the fragrance!
I received a dense, sizeable (for the species) plant with about 12 fans of foliage and a huge root system. It must have been growing in a deep tube pot of some kind as the roots were very long. I expect it to recover quickly and grow into a nice specimen in a few years.
