Description

Description

A fascinating and uncommon epiphytic species native to tropical regions of South America. It is distinguished by its extremely fine, grass-like foliage emerging from rounded pseudobulbs. This orchid produces clusters of delicate, fragrant flowers featuring narrow petals and a prominent, intricately marked lip.

  • Light: Bright indirect light. It prefers high light levels similar to Cattleyas to bloom successfully, but should be protected from intense direct sun to prevent leaf scorch.
  • Temperature: 65-85°F (18-29°C). An intermediate to warm grower that benefits from a slight drop in night temperatures to stimulate flowering.
  • Humidity: 50-70%. It prefers consistent humidity but can tolerate brief dry periods better than orchids with softer foliage.
  • Watering: Water freely during active growth, allowing the medium to dry almost completely between applications. Reduce frequency during the winter rest period.

Additional Notes

This orchid is prized for its structural elegance and sweet, persistent fragrance. It performs best in a medium bark mix or mounted on cork to mimic its natural habit. Shipped with a healthy, well-established root system and ready for potting upon arrival.
