This is a miniature, rambling, epiphytic orchid native to the Philippines, where it grows on mossy branches in lowland forests. It is noted for its ability to bloom frequently.
The plant is very compact and frequently flowering. It produces a slender inflorescence, usually bearing a single spectacular flower (about 2.5-3 cm) with elegant, narrow segments. Many growers report a subtle fragrance, especially noticeable in the evening.
The plant that was sent was a 7 bulb division, however it was actually 3 separate divisions. Not sure if they separated during shipment, or what. The larger 4 bulb division has survived and is putting out new roots and new growths, the other division of two bulbs, and the single bulb have all since died unfortunately. Overall, it worked out as I still have a division that is growing.
Thank you for your review of our Bulbophyllum bolsteri. We are sorry to hear that some of the divisions did not survive, but we are glad to hear that the larger division is thriving. It is possible that the divisions separated during shipment, but we will make sure to take extra care in packaging for future orders. Thank you for your feedback and we hope you continue to enjoy your growing division.
