Description

Description

This is a miniature, rambling, epiphytic orchid native to the Philippines, where it grows on mossy branches in lowland forests. It is noted for its ability to bloom frequently.

  • Light: Prefers bright, filtered light to light shade. Provide enough light to ensure compact growth, avoiding harsh, midday direct sun.
  • Temperature: Intermediate to warm-growing species. Optimal temperatures are 68-82°F (20-28°C) during the day, with a night drop to 61-64°F (16-18°C) to promote bud formation.
  • Humidity: Requires high humidity, ideally 60-80%, with gentle and constant air movement to prevent stagnant conditions. A humid terrarium or greenhouse is ideal.
  • Watering: Water generously and maintain a constant wet-dry rhythm: allow the substrate to dry almost completely before watering again. Do not allow the plant to dry out entirely.

Additional Notes

The plant is very compact and frequently flowering. It produces a slender inflorescence, usually bearing a single spectacular flower (about 2.5-3 cm) with elegant, narrow segments. Many growers report a subtle fragrance, especially noticeable in the evening.
