Bulbophyllum Ethan

This is a primary hybrid registered by Ecuagenera in 2025, resulting from the cross between Bulb. andersonii and Bulb. annandalei. This hybrid generally thrives in conditions that mimic a warm, moist rainforest environment.

• Light: It requires bright, indirect light to moderate light. Avoid direct, intense sunlight, which can easily scorch the leaves.
• Temperature: It is typically considered a warm-to-intermediate grower. The ideal daytime temperature range is 72-86°F (22-30°C), with a nocturnal temperature drop to 59-68°F (15-20°C).
• Humidity: It demands high humidity, ideally maintained between 60% and 90%. Good air circulation is essential when humidity is high to prevent fungal issues.
• Watering: It requires frequent watering. The potting medium should be kept perpetually moist and should never dry out completely between waterings. Water liberally, but ensure the medium is well-draining.

Additional Notes

Bulbophyllum in general prefer to be potted in a loose, open, moisture-retentive medium such as sphagnum moss or fine bark mix. Due to the spreading nature of some species, using shallow, wide pots, baskets, or mounting is often preferred.
