Philodendron verrucosum 2, please be aware that this plant travels not so well and tends to arrive with yellow leafs. It recovers quite fast, you need to plant it in coconut peat and 20% perlite and in shade, try to have it standing in water for the first weeks, until you see the new growth.
This is a beautiful plant however, one of my plants arrived wilted and dead. Thank goodness I placed this order for two plants as someone else suggested. My second plant has been in water and she’s loving it.
I purchased two after hearing how poorly this one ships. Picked up at a trade show in Canada in August 2024. Both were about 12 inches or a foot tall. Small/medium leaves. One must have been damaged in shipping as it was rotting midway up the stem so I cut that one up. Other one was potted straight into pon with a moss pole. One on pole took right away to my conditions (20 degrees Celsius, 40%humidity, standing grow light) and is now about 4 feet tall. Other one, two of the wet stocked died but the other two are growing and beautiful quality plants. Would recommend getting two just in case .
Not only did I receive a small plant, I received one in which all the leaves are dying and dead. The plant is floppy, it has extensive root rot and a super small root system. I’m pretty disappointed in this purchase. I wish I could share pictures because it is truly so ugly and horrible.
I knew the Verracosum doesn't travel well, but she's making a comeback! I may lose more leaves first, but the stem and current leaves are strong and the roots are bouncing back (they were dry, as expected) nicely! Ordered 7 more plants this morning. High quality!
This is a top cutting with a single 8" root. It's wilting a little but I think it will survive.
