Information

Description

Description

A striking miniature orchid prized for its vivid, jewel-toned blooms and compact growth habit. The flowers display the characteristic triangular shape of the genus, with fused sepals forming a tube that opens into bold, richly colored tails — a hallmark of high-altitude Masdevallias.

  • Light: Low to moderate light; 70–80% shade cloth. Avoid direct sun, which can scorch the foliage.
  • Temperature: 50–65°F (10–18°C); cool grower. Cool nights are essential for healthy growth and blooming — avoid prolonged exposure above 75°F (24°C).
  • Humidity: 70–90%. High humidity is key, but always paired with good air circulation to prevent fungal issues.
  • Watering: Keep roots evenly moist at all times. Water more frequently in warm months, slightly less in winter.

Additional Notes

Best grown in fine bark or sphagnum moss in small net or plastic pots. Ideal for cool-growing or climate-controlled setups. Offered by Ecuagenera, Ecuador, as a well-established bare-root plant.
