Information

Description

Description

A captivating miniature orchid from Andean cloud forests, valued for its unusually shaped flowers and vigorous compact growth. The blooms feature fused sepals forming a distinctive tube that extends into slender, elongated tails — delivered in rich, warm tones that give this species a bold presence despite its small size.

  • Light: Low to moderate light; 70–80% shade cloth. Avoid direct sun exposure.
  • Temperature: 50–65°F (10–18°C); cool grower. Cool nights are essential — avoid prolonged temperatures above 75°F (24°C).
  • Humidity: 70–90%. Maintain high humidity with good air circulation to prevent fungal issues.
  • Watering: Keep roots evenly moist at all times. Water more frequently in warm months, slightly less in winter.

Additional Notes

Best grown in fine bark or sphagnum moss in small net or plastic pots. Ideal for cool-growing or climate-controlled setups. Offered by Ecuagenera, Ecuador, as a well-established bare-root plant.
