Alocasia sanderiana is one of the most iconic and revered tropical plants in cultivation, commonly known as the Kris Plant or Sander's Alocasia. Native to the Philippines and first described by W.Bull, published in Nursery Cat. (William Bull) 199: 11 (1884), this intermediate-growing species from the Araceae family is celebrated for its extraordinarily ornate foliage — narrow, deeply lobed, metallic dark green leaves with bold, contrasting silvery-white veining and wavy, almost serrated margins. Its sculptural, jewel-like appearance has made it one of the most sought-after Alocasia species since its introduction to horticulture in the 19th century.
Alocasia sanderiana is a living legend of the tropical plant world — its metallic, deeply lobed leaves with silvery veining are among the most ornate and beautiful in the entire genus. A rare and historically significant Philippine species from Ecuagenera, grown with care in Ecuador.
