Aerangis hyaloides Culture
Successful cultivation of the enchanting Aerangis hyaloides. Here are some important cultural tips to ensure its thriving growth:
Light: Aerangis hyaloides thrives in bright, indirect light. Filtered sunlight or light shade is ideal. Avoid direct midday sun, which can scorch its delicate leaves.
Temperature: To mimic its natural habitat, aim for daytime temperatures between 18-25°C (65-77°F) and cooler nights around 15-20°C (59-68°F).
Humidity: High humidity is crucial for Aerangis hyaloides. Maintain humidity levels between 60-80% using humidifiers, pebble trays, or by misting regularly.
Watering: Keep the substrate consistently moist but not waterlogged. Frequent, light waterings are preferable to infrequent, heavy ones. Allow the substrate to dry slightly between waterings.
Air Movement: Good air circulation is essential to prevent fungal diseases. Ensure adequate airflow around the plant.
I bought this orchid on specs (my first time with Ecuagenera), to be picked up at the Toronto Orchid Show. On arrival, I'm very pleased to see that the plant is extremely well packed and very healthy, even after a long journey to Canada in the middle of winter. This is a miniature orchid, so very small, but mine already has established roots and even a flower spike. Thank you from a happy customer.
