Description

Aechmea manzanaresiana Culture

  • Light: Aechmea manzanaresiana prefers bright, indirect light. It thrives in filtered sunlight, similar to the dappled light of its native forest canopy. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can scorch the leaves.
  • Temperature: This bromeliad enjoys warm to intermediate temperatures. Ideal daytime temperatures range between 18-27°C (65-80°F), with nighttime temperatures around 15-20°C (59-68°F).
  • Humidity: High humidity is essential for Aechmea manzanaresiana, ideally between 50-70%. If grown indoors or in drier climates, mist the plant regularly or use a humidity tray to maintain adequate moisture levels.
  • Watering: Water the plant by filling the central tank (rosette) with water, ensuring it is always about 1/4 full. Use rainwater or distilled water to avoid mineral buildup.

Additional Notes:

  • Aechmea manzanaresiana produces a showy inflorescence with bright pink or red bracts and small yellow or white flowers. The inflorescence can last for several months, adding a dramatic touch to the plant.
