Acineta sulcata Culture

Successful cultivation of the fascinating Acineta sulcata. Here are some important cultural tips to ensure its thriving growth:

Light: Acineta sulcata appreciates bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can scorch its delicate pseudobulbs and leaves.

Temperature: To mimic its natural habitat, aim for warm daytime temperatures between 20-28°C (68-82°F) and slightly cooler nights around 15-20°C (59-68°F).

Humidity: High humidity is crucial for Acineta sulcata. Maintain humidity levels above 60% and consider using humidifiers or regular misting to provide a moist environment.

Watering: Keep the substrate consistently moist, but avoid waterlogging. Allow the top layer to dry slightly between waterings. Frequent, light misting can also help maintain humidity and provide supplemental moisture.

I give 4 stars because the bulbs have some black dots. Had to remove them and put cinnamon on them. Otherwise healthy plant with live roots.

Arrived in very good condition. Four mature pseudobulbs plus two new growths. Vigorous plant. I hope will adapt in new environment.

Two fully mature pseudobulbs, one in foliage. Few living roots and two small leads that rotted shortly after I got the plant, but I know from previous experience with this genus that the plant will root out rapidly and will push out a new lead next spring.
